About the group
Play to Grow will provide fun and meaningful opportunities for communication between the child and their caregivers as well as information about how to further support communication in everyday life.
The sessions are set up similarly to a community playgroup with the aims of supporting children’s development and wellbeing as well as providing parents with social opportunities and parenting support. The sessions are planned and facilitated by experienced therapists who are able to tailor the activities to meet the specific needs of each client and their family.
This program has been designed in response to frequent feedback from parents about a lack of comfort attending mainstream playgroups and group activities with their children.

About the group
Stay and Play allows time for parents to connect and have a cup of tea while baby plays with a range of developmentally appropriate toys. The group also gathers for music time with the Speech Pathologist who guides the families through a range of songs and rhymes. Families are provided with song and rhymes sheets to help them learn the words at home.
These sessions provide a safe environment for parents to connect with other parents of babies and young children recently diagnosed with a disability
Singing and music have many benefits for all children. Song and rhyme help a baby’s brain make important connections for future learning. They form the foundations for language, literacy and mathematical learning.

Physical activities are well-known to provide benefits to the growth, health and well-being of children. Physical activities in childhood provide opportunities for building muscle strength and activity is also known to promote the development of interpersonal skills, self-confidence and self-efficacy.

About the group
This group supports the development of parent-child connections and communication skills through cooking activities. Preparing food together develops communication skills, fine motor skills, provides sensory experiences and social opportunities for both adults and children. Have fun being creative in the kitchen.

About the group
Using Lego, our therapists will teach children a range of skills, including turn-taking, sharing, listening, conversation, teamwork, shared attention and problem-solving.

Providing leadership opportunities for young people to share their interests, skills and knowledge of technology with others.
- Provide activities where language is not a barrier to enable more engagement for clients who have a diagnosis of ASD or are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Provide social opportunities for children and young people
• Provide an age-appropriate and engaging environment that encourages clients to develop their social, co-operative and communication skills

About the group
To assist clients to access STEM resources and learning experiences in a supportive environment. Children with sensory needs may miss out on inclusive STEM experiences at school due to lack of appropriate supports, or modified resources and modes of access (for example, Braille Lego Instructions).
- • Provide experiences to clients that may be difficult to access without the support offered by allied health therapists
• Provide access to accessible resources and technology for clients to participate in sessions/blocks focusing on high-interest topics
• Provide the opportunity for social connections with peers also accessing our services
• Provide ‘real world’ practice for clients to use their assistive tech/supportive devices for purposes that are meaningful to them (eg Braille note, magnifiers, CCTV, Rogers)
• Provide an age-appropriate and engaging environment that encourages clients to develop their social, co-operative and communication skills
