About Can:Do

Can Do 4 Kids Facebook Cover
Can:Do 4Kids, Townsend House incorporates the Cora Barclay Listening and Spoken Language Program.

We want children, young people and their families to live life focused on what they CAN do.

That’s why we formed in 1874: to provide support and services to children and young people who are blind, deaf, have low vision, are hard of hearing, or have diverse needs such as development delay or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Importantly, we also support their families. Together, we work to help children with these challenges, communicate better, connect easier, and live their best lives.

The Cora Barclay Centre founded in 1945, is Australia’s longest-running listening and spoken language service for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

We’re proudly South Australia’s oldest children’s charity, and while a lot has changed since our early days, one thing has remained the same: our can do attitude.
